CRAYONS INSPIRE ME

Ah, the crayon! As simple as they appear, there’s a lot to them. First of all, just opening a new box of 48 or 64 still stimulate my eyes, nose and touch just as if I were a kid but mostly it affects my imagination! And to think, I don’t have to worry about wasting expensive paints or canvas so I’m free to experiment all that I want.
So, what do I do with all of this color? That’s my motivation…its like traveling to somewhere I would like to visit! Yes, and I know just how to get there with them. Maybe getting there wasn’t as simple as all that in the beginning but I have always been excited to think of the possibilities of what could be done with a box of crayons and paper. And then the hook, I can’t believe I did that with just crayons!

I am an art teacher and have always felt an affinity to crayons. I argue with my peers that art can be taught with nothing more than a box of crayons (yes sculpture and painting). Jeffrey Robert has gone a long way to affirm my position.
